CanSkate
Skate Canada's flagship learn-to-skate program that offers basic skating instruction by Professional Skate Canada Coaches assisted by trained program assistants. Program length is 1 hour, 2 times a week on Mondays & Wednesdays. Program starts in October and can end in December or skaters can continue for the full season, ending in March.
Pre-CanSkate
Provides components of the CanSkate program to participants who have never skated before or who are not confident with their balance on the ice. Program length is 1/2 hour, 2 times a week on Mondays & Wednesdays. Program starts in October and can end in December or skaters can continue for the full season, ending in March.
Hockey Skills
Our Hockey Skills class adapts the Skate Canada CanSkate program through a hockey lens. Skaters learn CanSkate skills alongside hockey skills. Skaters can wear their full hockey equipment and bring their sticks on the ice as the program progresses. Program length is 1 hour, once a week on Mondays. Program starts in October and can end in December, or skaters can continue for the full season, ending in March.
Adult Skate
Our Adult Skate class adapts to whatever level the adult skater needs. Whether you are just learning how to skate or getting back into figure skating, this program helps show that sport is for life. Program length is 1/2 hour, once a week on Tuesdays. Program starts in October and can end in December, or skaters can continue for the full season, ending in March.
STARskate
Skills, Test, Achievement, Recognition - this is what STARskate is all about! STARskate offers opportunities for skaters to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of dance, skills, freeskate, artistic, and synchronized skating. This program is currently offered 1 - 4 hours per week, Monday through Wednesday.
Shooting STARs
This program is a bridge between CanSkate and STARskate. Skaters continue on the CanSkate pathway of agility, balance and control, while also learning the fundamentals of figure skating. This program is currently offered 1 - 4 hours per week, Monday through Wednesday. Register for this program under STARskate.
